WELCOME HOMEOWNERS!! This blog is for people who would like to exchange ideas and views about Canyon Crest Estates HOA in a positive and constructive manner. In particular we'd like to focus on development of a Long Term Plan and our community Vision going forward. How can we make our community a better place to live? How can we improve our property values? How can we keep our costs down? We will attempt to address the concerns of all homeowners in the process. We need YOUR ideas and suggestions ..... after all this is YOUR community. Have you got complaints, criticisms, etc? Lets hear about those .... and please try to propose some solutions while you're at it too. NOTE: Please refrain from from personal attacks and other inappropriate comments. The Paint Sub-Committee (of the LongRangePlanning Committee) had its first meeting last week. Joanie Stavale, Sue Whitecotton, Brenda Hughes, and Gloria Hickman (along with Karen Kopiki who couldn't attend) will be exploring color choices for repainting the complex. We realize that re-painting has not yet been approved, but want to have some colors ready for a vote when that happens next year. The existing color will also be among the choices. This committee will want to have lots of visuals (digital renderings as well as actual painting of sample walls) for homeowners to see and want to give everyone plenty of time to consider choices before any voting takes place next year.

A lot of people at the Town Hall meeting in September seemed interested in remodeling the two entries on Pacific View. Due to that positive response, Jack and Gloria are creating more specific drawings in order to get a contractor bid. We realize this is a distant, distant future project, but we want a price. No sense in getting all excited about it if we don't know the cost! The Long Range Planning Committee wants to attach a budget for each of the ideas being discussed. Homeowners can weigh in on which projects merit consideration, in what year they might get done, and how they will be funded. That's part of the process Mike's setting up with the Strategic Plan. And, even though there are lots of maintenance issues to do first, we'll keep the entry project alive.

Friday morning, Nov. 6, members of the Paint Sub-Committee (Brenda Hughes, Gloria Hickman, Joanie Stavale, along with Eileen Semple) went on another fieldtrip to find houses with paint colors that would look good for Canyon Crest. Remember that our complex is scheduled for painting next year and homeowners will decide if we want to repaint the existing color or change it. Here are the top three choices of houses with colors we liked. We will show you photos of these houses at the next Town Hall Meeting and welcome your feedback. Take the time to drive by these addresses yourself so that you can weigh in.
ReplyDelete505 Begonia (gold color)
227 Iris (creamy gold)
200 block of Goldenrod at corner of Ocean Lane (looks like an alley) -- house (light buff/terra cotta) with a planter down the alley side that could inspire us on our own tired planters.
If you find other addresses in CDM or elsewhere, get them to us and we will take a look.
